Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Langdon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Du Plessis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du Plessis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fort Minor - Remember the name. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Langdon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deon Du Plessis!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langdon misses with a hook.
Du Plessis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Langdon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Du Plessis closes the distance and clinches.
Come on Du Plessis - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Langdon wants to break free but Du Plessis has control.

Du Plessis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Langdon up against the cage.

Du Plessis decides to pull guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Du Plessis manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Du Plessis wants to take the fight to the mat but Langdon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Langdon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Langdon gets to his feet. Du Plessis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Du Plessis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Langdon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Du Plessis somewhat.
Langdon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Du Plessis was well out of range. Poor timing from Langdon.

Langdon throws the left hand but Du Plessis avoids the punch easily.

Du Plessis has closed the distance and engaged Langdon in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Du Plessis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Langdon is looking to stand up but Du Plessis won't let him.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Du Plessis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Langdon, up you get!

Langdon tries to bum rush Du Plessis with a series of wild strikes but Du Plessis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Daniel Langdon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deon Du Plessis.

Du Plessis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Du Plessis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Langdon is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Du Plessis has taken his back!
Will Du Plessis go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Deon Du Plessis will probably get the nod.
That's time! Langdon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Du Plessis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Deon Du Plessis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
