Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin's entrance music is War - The Sick Puppies. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nolan Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Jackson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Martin misses. Martin throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Martin works the jab nicely. Martin tries a low kick but Jackson avoids it. A kick lands to the mid section there for Jackson. Martin darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Martin is looking to chop away at Jackson's legs. Martin digs a good body shot into Jackson's ribs. Martin connects with a single shot there. Jackson walks into a left hand. Jackson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Martin defends it nicely. Martin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Martin misses with a two punch combination.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Shane Jackson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Martin thows a body shot but no joy. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jackson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Martin. Martin lands with a right hand. Jackson motions for Martin to come forward. Jackson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Martin. That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jackson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Martin. Jackson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Nice uppercut lands for Martin. That snapped Jackson's head back.

Nolan Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Jackson. Martin lands a head shot. Martin throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily. Martin throws a leg kick that is checked and Jackson counters with a thumping low kick. Martin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and Martin counters with a nice uppercut. Martin checks a low kick from Jackson. Martin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Martin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Martin scrambles back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Martin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jackson throws a leg kick that is checked and Martin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Martin walks into a stiff left hand from Jackson. A shot to the liver by Martin. Beautiful body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nolan Martin will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Martin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Martin cracks Jackson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Jackson is looking to land body kicks. Jackson throws a leg kick but Martin sees it coming and moves out of range. Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Martin was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson. Martin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Martin.

Jackson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Martin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Jackson throws a low kick but Martin avoids it. Martin lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jackson's sensitive parts. Martin shoots in but no luck this time. Martin throws a shot from downtown. Jackson moves away and avoids it. Nolan Martin is winning the standup battle so far. Martin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Martin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson tests Martin's chin there with a solid looking shot. Martin cracks Jackson with an open hand slap. Martin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Martin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jackson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Martin throws a leg kick that is checked and Jackson counters with a leg kick. Jackson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Martin. Martin shoots in but no luck this time. Martin shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nolan Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him. A shot to the liver by Jackson. Beautiful body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Martin will feel that in the morning. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jackson, right into the meat.
Jackson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Jackson moves away from the strike by Martin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Martin gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch. Martin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jackson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Martin, as that shot connected.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nolan Martin will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Martin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jackson tries to land a front kick but Martin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Jackson misses with an uppercut. Martin saw that one coming. Martin jabs Jackson right on the nose. Jackson blinks but takes it well. Martin shoots in but no luck this time. Martin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jackson. Martin scores with the left hand. Jackson knows he should have avoided that one. Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jackson is fending him off so far but Martin persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Martin checks a leg kick. Jackson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Martin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jackson staying out of range there. Jackson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Martin slips a jab from Jackson. Martin ducks under a wild hook from Jackson. Jackson ducks under a wild hook from Martin. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jackson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Martin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Martin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Jackson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martin.
Jackson tries to clinch but Martin is having none of it. Martin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Martin wants to slow Jackson down by chopping away at his legs. Shane Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Martin is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This has been an exciting period of action! You can see the frustration on Martin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Martin is looking for a sweep. Martin regains half guard, as Jackson was trying to land strikes. Jackson is thwarting Martin's attempts to control the position. Martin tries to get to full guard but Jackson has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson scoring with strikes to the body and head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin trying to control from the bottom.
Jackson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Martin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though. Jackson is looking to stall here but Martin recovers full guard. Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nolan Martin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shane Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far. Martin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Martin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
