Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Thoupos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakatsu Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thoupos comes to the ring accompanied by Numb Encore. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Thoupos has closed the distance and engaged Sakuraba in a clinch.

Sakuraba shoots in looking for a takedown. Thoupos tries to sprawl out of it but Sakuraba keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Thoupos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Thoupos throws a nice looking combination but Sakuraba bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Thoupos throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sakuraba tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thoupos is in Sakuraba's guard.

Thoupos goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Thoupos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Thoupos is taking a breather. Sakuraba says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Thoupos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Alexander Thoupos spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
