Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caz Deane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caz Deane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Caz Deane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marc Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Deane avoids the body shot from Stevens.
Deane looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stevens scores with a jab to the body.
Stevens displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Deane wants to clinch.
Deane cracks Stevens with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Marc Stevens has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Deane moves forwards but Stevens connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Stevens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Deane swivels and escapes.

Stevens changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deane looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Deane tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Deane is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Stevens trying to control the position but Deane is working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Deane gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Stevens blocks Deane's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Stevens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Deane wants to control but Stevens is having none of it.
Stevens lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Stevens trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Stevens unloads with some shots from mount but Deane bucks and avoids them well.
Deane's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Deane tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee warns Deane that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stevens is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Deane can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Stevens controlling the position easily from mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stevens lands with some strikes.
Deane flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Deane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stevens controlling his opponent.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stevens is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Deane is surviving well by controlling Stevens's body position as best he can.
Stevens looks gassed!
Stevens wants to control the pace but Deane is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deane squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Stevens lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Deane throwing hammer fists to the chest of Stevens. What's that going to do exactly?

Stevens working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stevens cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Deane really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Stevens dominating with strikes here.
Stevens throws some wild stikes that Deane manages to avoid easily.
Deane working to try and regain half guard.

Stevens goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Deane is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Deane won't allow Stevens to get back to his feet.

Deane stands up from Stevens's guard - Deane perhaps looking for a knockout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Deane doesn't manage to clinch there - Stevens circles away.
Stevens fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stevens throws a wild hook but Deane just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Stevens gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Deane raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Caz Deane!
