The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilkins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wilkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Caboon's waist but Caboon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wilkins off to one side. Wilkins misses with a body shot.

It looks like Paul Caboon has been cut. Caboon tries to clinch up. Wilkins with a body punch. A glancing blow. Caboon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wilkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wilkins scores with a nice strike. Wilkins keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Caboon gets a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wilkins blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Caboon tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wilkins's elbow. Wilkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Caboon tries to clinch but Wilkins moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caboon closes the distance but Wilkins moves to the side and Wilkins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Caboon wants to clinch. Nice sprawl there from Caboon as Wilkins shoots in. A combination from Caboon does no damage. Wilkins lands with a nice body punch. Caboon tries to move into range but Wilkins moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Wilkins lands a nice hook to Caboon's body. Caboon takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Caboon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Caboon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Wilkins is looking to wear down Caboon with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wilkins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Caboon doesn't seem bothered though. Caboon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Caboon looks to clinch and Wilkins decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Caboon's guard. Caboon has momentary wrist control but Wilkins slips an elbow through the middle. Wilkins throws a big elbow that misses. Wilkins lands a couple of decent looking shots. Wilkins postures up in Caboon's guard and throws a big left but Caboon blocks it. Wilkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Caboon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wilkins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wilkins drops back looking for a leg! Caboon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Caboon manages to kick Wilkins off! Wilkins jumps back into Caboon's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Caboon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Caboon avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Wilkins connects with a body shot. Wilkins tries to land a front kick but Caboon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Wilkins connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Wilkins clobbers Caboon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Wilkins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caboon was well out of range. Poor timing from Wilkins. Wilkins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Caboon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Wilkins scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Wilkins lands with a good body shot. Caboon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wilkins. Wilkins connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wilkins misses the shot to the body. Caboon moves out of range of the strikes. Wilkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Caboon can do to turn this around?

Wilkins scores with the left hand. Caboon knows he should have avoided that one. Wilkins lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Caboon sprawling to the canvas. Wilkins follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Caboon hang on?
Caboon is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wilkins thows a huge punch but Caboon dodges it nicely.
Caboon is still in real trouble! Can Wilkins finish him? Wilkins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wilkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilkins connects with a nice short shot to Caboon's temple. Wilkins works his way into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Wilkins are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Wilkins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilkins sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Caboon is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Wilkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Caboon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wilkins scores with punches from side control. Wilkins scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Caboon is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Wilkins can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
