Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wojciech Fons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fons comes into the arena with Fortunate Son blaring out of the sound system. Nick Skerlik is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wojciech Fons! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nick Skerlik! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fons chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Fons really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Skerlik looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Fons tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Fons thumps Skerlik with a low kick. Fons throws a leg kick which misses Skerlik's front leg but catches the back leg as Skerlik tries to avoid it. Fons gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Skerlik wants to pass the guard but Fons is keeping the position. Fons is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Skerlik defends well. Skerlik pushing down on Fons's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skerlik is trying to control the action in half guard but Fons is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fons is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Skerlik pulls his head out easily. Skerlik is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Skerlik wants to take a breather but Fons is having none of it. Skerlik is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fons defends it well. Skerlik passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fons! Skerlik is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fons is surviving well by controlling Skerlik's body position as best he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fons can't escape the position.
Skerlik pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fons is desperately trying to improve his position but Skerlik has a good base and remains in mount. Skerlik controlling the pace for now. Skerlik looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skerlik seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Fons is holding on tight.
Skerlik is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Fons to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Fons shrugs it off. Fons tries to lock up and control but Skerlik gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fons squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Fons wants to control but Skerlik is having none of it. Skerlik tries to control but Fons wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fons tries to control Skerlik's body but Skerlik pushes him off. Fons squirms to his side and now Skerlik has his back! Fons is trying to get back to his feet but Skerlik has full control of the position and if anything, Fons has just worked his way into a worse spot. Fons trying to control the position but Skerlik manages to sink in the hooks. Skerlik looking for the choke from the back. Skerlik is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fons knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fons for a finish. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Skerlik tightening his grip on Fons, looking for the choke. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Skerlik is persistently looking for the submission but Fons is defending it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Skerlik dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Fons looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Skerlik! Skerlik is trying to stand up. Fons wants to control the pace but Skerlik is squirming around nicely. Fons goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Skerlik turns into him and now he's in Fons's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fons throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Skerlik wants to pass the guard but Fons is keeping the position. Fons looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Skerlik is defending well. Fons quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Skerlik has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Fons celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Wojciech Fons! Wojciech Fons retains his featherweight title! A less than humble Wojciech Fons misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
