Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimm Power! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frederico Deps! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Power fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Deps sprawls well initially but Power persists and gets the takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Power lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
It looks like Frederico Deps has been cut. Deps looks like he's trying to stand up.
Power missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Power throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Deps is pressing down on Power's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Power is looking to work some ground and pound but Deps has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deps not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Power trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Power trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Power looking to sit in guard and control but Deps gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Deps trying to control the position from guard on top but Power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Power has control of Deps's left arm, preventing Deps from doing any damage. Power on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Power tries to get out of the position. Power looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Power controlling the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jimm Power. Power scores with a takedown into Deps's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Power is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Power throws a strike but Deps rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Power had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Deps defends it easily. Deps wants to control from the top but Power keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Power is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Deps postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Power has Deps pulled in close to control his posture. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jimm Power has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Deps looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Power avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Power shoots in looking for a takedown but Deps manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Power's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Power stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Power wants it to stay on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deps wants to clinch and Power counters with a nice double leg into side control. Deps won't be happy with that. Deps takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Power postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Deps wants to get back to his feet. Deps looks gassed! An elbow from Power crashes against the mat.
Power is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Deps knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Deps taking a bit of punishment here - Power scoring with strikes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Power scoring with punches from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimm Power dominated that round. The cut man is working on Frederico Deps's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Power has a takedown stuffed. Power shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Power shoots in but Deps avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimm Power. That's going to take a lot out of him. Deps stuffs the takedown. Deps shoots in for a takedown but Power shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Deps fails with a takedown attempt. Deps gets in close and instigates a clinch. Power lands a shoulder strike. Deps throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Powers head. Nice body punch from Deps - that landed with a thud.
Power gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Deps regains guard.
Deps manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Power manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Deps wants to control from the top but Power keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Power is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Deps postures up.

Jimm Power has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Deps stuffs the takedown. Deps tries to clinch up. Jimm Power is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Deps darts in trying to clinch and Power counters with a nice double leg into guard. Deps manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Deps has hold of Power's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Power manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Power can't escape the position.
Power wants to control but Deps is having none of it. Power tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Power tries to lock up and control but Deps gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Deps trying to control but Power is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Power wants to control but Deps is having none of it. Deps trying to control but he's not successful this time. Deps controlling the pace for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Power is trying to escape the mount.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jimm Power will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Frederico Deps's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Frederico Deps seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Deps displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Power. Power swats away the attempt to clinch by Deps. Deps closes the distance but Power moves to the side so Power counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Deps bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Power's guard. Deps is looking to stand up but Power won't let him. Power trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Power controlling the position. Deps trying to stand up but can't free himself from Power's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Power pulls Deps in close to prevent any damage.

Power trying to control but Deps is working from the bottom. Deps takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Power controls from within his opponent's guard. Power wants to control from the top but Deps keeps moving.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Power shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Deps is trying to defend but Power finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Power looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Deps is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Power landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Power connects with a nice short shot to Deps's temple. Deps is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Power scores with a couple of nice shots. Power is controlling the pace.
Power winds up and cracks Deps with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Power wants to free his trapped foot but Deps is holding on for dear life with his legs. Power wants to control but Deps is keeping him busy. Power looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Power lands a nice short elbow. Power wants to pass to mount but Deps is defending the position. Deps is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Deps on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Frederico Deps has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jimm Power is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jimm Power overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Power seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimm Power showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Power, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
