The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Costa tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Da Costa.
Smith scores with a leg kick.
Donk. Smith catches Da Costa right on the button with a cross.
Smith lands a body shot.
Da Costa misses with a double jab.
Smith thuds his shin into the meat of Da Costa's side.
Da Costa is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith drops Da Costa with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Da Costa looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Da Costa steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Smith. That one must have hurt.
Adriano Da Costa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Da Costa. That did some damage!
Smith drops Da Costa with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Da Costa looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Da Costa is rocked!
Da Costa throws a lazy head kick
and Smith counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
