Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Graham Wellington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wellington comes to the cage accompanied by Suffragrette City. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, King Dela Cruz! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dela Cruz throws a jab but it's blocked by Wellington. Dela Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dela Cruz lands in his opponent's guard. Dela Cruz preventing the sweep. Dela Cruz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wellington's head. Dela Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Wellington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dela Cruz's corner is telling him to maintain position. Dela Cruz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dela Cruz is fighting to break Wellington's control of his arms but Wellington is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wellington pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown but Wellington manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dela Cruz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wellington just misses with a punch to the body.
Dela Cruz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Dela Cruz trying to control but Wellington is working from the bottom. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wellington tries to get out of the position. Wellington keeping moving, preventing Dela Cruz from controlling successfully. That's two minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wellington is on top in guard.
Dela Cruz pulls Wellington in close to prevent any damage. Dela Cruz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Wellington would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dela Cruz is working an open guard so Wellington takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab by Dela Cruz. Wellington keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Dela Cruz on the wrong end of a nice hook. Graham Wellington is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wellington misses with a low kick. Dela Cruz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wellington avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dela Cruz. Wellington struggling a bit here. Wellington is looking to regain half guard here but Dela Cruz keeps moving and retains side control. Dela Cruz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Wellington is not content to let Dela Cruz control the position. Dela Cruz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wellington kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dela Cruz throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Wellington dodges the ground and pound from Dela Cruz. Wellington is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dela Cruz connects with a decent elbow. Not really close to a finish though. Dela Cruz wants to control but Wellington is keeping him busy. Wellington tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dela Cruz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. That's six minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wellington knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dela Cruz in side control, throwing shots but Wellington defends. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wellington takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Dela Cruz looks up at the clock and then as Wellington takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dela Cruz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Dela Cruz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wellington down.
Dela Cruz advances nicely into full mount. Dela Cruz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Dela Cruz lands a nice shot to the head. BOOM! Dela Cruz connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Wellington is rocked! Dela Cruz looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Dela Cruz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Wellington is in a horrible position here. Dela Cruz smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dela Cruz is landing with some decent strikes but Wellington is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Oh Wellington is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A big strike lands for Dela Cruz! That's really hurt Wellington and he's turned his back - Dela Cruz keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Dela Cruz jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
