Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Varian Wyrnn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyrnn blocks a head kick by Slade.
Slade digs a good hook to Wyrnn's body.
Wyrnn misses with a double jab.
Wyrnn fails to land with a series of punches.
Slade lands a jab to Wyrnn's midsection.

A nice inside leg kick there by Slade. That's going to slow Wyrnn down.
Wyrnn throws a series of punches but Slade moves out of range.
Slade comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wyrnn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Donk. Slade catches Wyrnn right on the button with a cross.
Slade throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Wyrnn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Slade.
Slade throws a leg kick which misses Wyrnn's front leg but catches the back leg as Wyrnn tries to avoid it.
Slade throws a sloppy head kick and Wyrnn moves out of range easily.

Slade lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slade ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Slade scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Slade lets loose with a powerful body kick. Wyrnn will feel that in the morning.
Wyrnn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Slade connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wyrnn scrambles back to his feet.
Slade stuns Wyrnn with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Slade connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Slade thumps Wyrnn with a low kick.
John Slade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wyrnn on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Wyrnn sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Slade looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Slade is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Wyrnn rather than just go for the knockout.
Slade fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wyrnn.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wyrnn moves forwards but Slade connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wyrnn is rocked!
Slade is looking to chop away at Wyrnn's legs.

Wyrnn looks up at the clock. Bad move! Slade lands a right hand from hell, dropping Wyrnn. Slade pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Slade!
In his post fight interview, John Slade started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
