PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Concrete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sekur Arian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Concrete comes to the ring accompanied by Pillar : Fire on the Inside. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Concrete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sekur Arian!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arian is trying hard to land a takedown here. Concrete sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Arian misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Arian cracks Concrete with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Arian gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Concrete can't do much from the bottom here.
Concrete dodges the ground and pound from Arian.
Arian tries to advance to mount but Concrete denies him.
Concrete is not content to let Arian control the position.
Concrete tries to improve position but can't.
Concrete gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Concrete is not content to let Arian control the position.

Nice strikes from Arian there.
Arian seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Concrete does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Concrete tries to kick Arian off but Arian keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Arian winds up and cracks Concrete with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Arian throwing shots but Concrete is blocking nicely.
Concrete is looking to improve his position.
Concrete has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Arian is working away from the top position though.
Concrete is trying to stand back up but Arian is controlling him
Arian wants to take a breather but Concrete is having none of it.

Concrete moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Arian is working Concrete over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Arian with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Arian in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Arian with a flurry of punches that miss.
Concrete manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Arian tries to hold on but Concrete pushes him away.
Arian is looking to improve his position but Concrete isn't that keen on the idea.

Concrete looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Concrete swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Arian is now in Concrete's guard. A big mistake from Concrete there, giving up the dominant position!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Concrete looking for a sweep. Not yet Concrete, not yet.

Concrete had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arian defends it easily.
Arian wants to control from the top but Concrete keeps moving.
Arian advances position into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arian wants to control but Concrete is keeping him busy.
Arian landing a few strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sekur Arian dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Arian changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Concrete tries to avoid it but Arian manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Concrete to the ground. Concrete escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Arian fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Arian looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Concrete is fending him off so far but Arian persists. Nope, Concrete circles away and we're back to standing.
Quinton Concrete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sekur Arian.
No joy there for Arian, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Arian closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Arian landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Concrete slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Arian trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Concrete scrambles and gets back to his feet.
A slow jab from Arian misses its intended target.

A combination from Arian does no damage.
Arian throws a hook but Concrete blocks it.
Sekur Arian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arian shoots in for a takedown but Concrete shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Arian connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Arian feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Arian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Concrete. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Arian wants to control from the top but Concrete keeps moving.
Arian stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Concrete swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Arian is breathing heavily.
Concrete controls Arian momentarily but Arian frees himself.
Arian trying to control the position from guard on top but Concrete is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Concrete wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Arian closes the distance and clinches up with Concrete, looking for a takedown. Arian pushes Concrete against the ropes but Concrete circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Concrete defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Arian.
Arian shoots in for a takedown but Concrete shows good takedown defense.
Concrete rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Arian moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Concrete connects with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Concrete fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Arian fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Concrete drives through with a takedown into guard.
Concrete advances to half guard.
Arian won't allow Concrete to pass to mount.

Arian is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Arian is not content to let Concrete control the position.
Arian is trying to get back to full guard.

Arian is defending against the submission attempts here by Concrete.
Concrete is trying to control. Arian wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Concrete will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Concrete seems to be working for a kimura but Arian defends the submission attempt.
Arian slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Arian wants to sweep but no luck.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arian can do anything to dispel that myth.
Concrete is pushing down on Arian's leg trying to pass to half guard. Arian is fighting to maintain full guard but Concrete has managed to sneak the leg through.

Concrete is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arian doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Concrete.
Arian is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Quinton Concrete will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Arian moves out of range as Concrete strikes.
Arian has a takedown stuffed.
Arian tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Concrete swivels and escapes.
Concrete misses with a hook. Arian ducked under it nicely.
A jab from Arian does it's job there.
Arian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Concrete circles away.
Quinton Concrete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sekur Arian.

Arian gets a takedown into half guard.
Concrete manages to get to full guard.
Arian postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arian looking to sit in guard and control but Concrete gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Arian controls Concrete momentarily but Concrete frees himself.
Concrete pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arian is keeping the position for now.

Arian wants to control the position but Concrete says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Concrete uses his free foot to push down on Arian's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Arian.

Concrete is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Concrete enables Arian to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Concrete manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Arian takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Concrete pulls Arian in close to prevent any damage.
Arian trying to control the position from guard on top but Concrete is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Arian stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Concrete throws up his legs and catches Arian in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Arian tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Concrete! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Quinton Concrete!
