Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Wrassle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Baldwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon Baldwin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Wrassle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brandon Baldwin! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wrassle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Joe Wrassle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wrassle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Baldwin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Baldwin takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Baldwin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wrassle has just dragged him back down to the mat. Baldwin throws Wrassle to one side and escapes! Wrassle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baldwin pinned against the cage. Baldwin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Wrassle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Baldwin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wrassle is in Baldwin's guard. Baldwin looking for a guillotine here but Wrassle defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wrassle's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wrassle trying to control but Baldwin is working from the bottom. Wrassle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wrassle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baldwin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wrassle scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Baldwin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wrassle is one step ahead there. Baldwin looking to control.
Wrassle won't allow Baldwin to sweep him here. Wrassle is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Baldwin is looking to stand up but Wrassle isn't so interested in that idea. Baldwin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wrassle tries to free his leg and advance position but Baldwin is retaining full guard. Wrassle postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wrassle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Baldwin wants to get back to his feet but Wrassle is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wrassle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wrassle throws a right and a left that both miss. Baldwin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wrassle to score an easy takedown into full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Baldwin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Wrassle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wrassle throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wrassle postures up.
Wrassle wants to control from the top but Baldwin keeps moving. Wrassle looking to pass the guard. Wrassle passes easily into side control. Nice work. Baldwin is trying to escape the position but Wrassle is controlling the position. Baldwin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Baldwin pushes Wrassle off looking to stand but Wrassle dives back in and keeps control.
Baldwin looks gassed! Wrassle is looking to take a break and control but Baldwin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wrassle wants to free his trapped foot but Baldwin is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wrassle connects with a nice short shot to Baldwin's temple. Baldwin is trying to stand back up but Wrassle is controlling him
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wrassle scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Wrassle tries to pass to full mount but Baldwin defends it. This has been an exciting period of action! Wrassle lands with a punch from half guard. Wrassle tries to pass to full mount but Baldwin defends it. Wrassle drops an elbow to the side of Baldwin's head. Wrassle passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Baldwin! Baldwin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Baldwin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Wrassle dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Baldwin misses with a takedown attempt and Wrassle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Baldwin won't be happy with that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Baldwin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wrassle lands a decent elbow from side control. Baldwin is breathing heavily. Wrassle landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Baldwin is trying to escape the position but Wrassle is controlling the position. Wrassle cracks Baldwin with an elbow. That is naaassty. Baldwin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baldwin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Wrassle connects with a decent elbow. Wrassle cracks Baldwin with a big elbow.
Baldwin is rocked! Baldwin takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Baldwin is still in real trouble! Can Wrassle finish him? Baldwin taking a bit of punishment here - Wrassle scoring with strikes. Wrassle scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Baldwin is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Wrassle can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
