Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eddie Nash told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Parker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nash's head. Parker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Parker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nash is just riding it out for now. Parker eventually gives up the hold. Nash wants to control but Parker is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Parker prevents Nash from improving his position. Parker is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Nash has managed to free his arm - good work. Nash is looking for a sweep. Parker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nash is in trouble now - Parker has advanced to mount! Parker is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nash has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nash! Nash looking to pass the guard. Parker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nash's guard. Nash tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nash is trying to keep Parker in close.

Parker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nash swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nash is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Nash had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Parker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nash Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Parker's back instead. Nash looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Parker regains half guard. Parker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Parker is working hard here to advance position. Nash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parker keeps working. Nash trying to control from Parker's half guard. Parker has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Parker pulls Nash in to control the position. Parker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nash's guard. Parker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Nash manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Nash has his foot on Parker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parker works his way back into a safe position though. Nash lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Parker! Nash moves to the back position. Oooh a big shot gets through from Nash. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nash is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Parker is defending well though. Nash let's go of the attempt for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nash's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nash's back! Parker working for a choke but Nash is defending well. Parker is trying to stick to Nash's back but Nash is turning into Parker. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Parker's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nash. Parker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nash is one step ahead there. Parker wants to improve his position but instead Nash has moved into half guard.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Parker tries to get out of the position. Nash has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Parker! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Parker scoring with some ground and pound. Nash thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parker is looking to regain half guard here but Nash keeps moving and retains side control. Nash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Parker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nash's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Parker. Parker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Nash counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nash is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Parker trying to control but Nash postures up.

Parker is looking to regain half guard here but Nash keeps moving and retains side control. Parker tries to strike but it doesn't land. Parker tries to bench press Nash off him but Nash keeps the position. Parker is trying to work for a sweep but Nash has mounted him! Nash wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Nash is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parker's back! Parker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nash on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Parker can't escape the position.
