Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sherlok Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Holmes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Queen - We are the champions. The crowd seem to be enjoying Petrov's choice of entrance music: Schweine. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sherlok Holmes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladimir Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Holmes pinned against the ropes. Holmes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Petrov moves away from the strike by Holmes.
Holmes ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Petrov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Petrov there as he acknowledges the shot.
Petrov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Holmes counters with a nice uppercut.
Petrov takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Holmes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Holmes wants it to stay on the feet.
Sherlok Holmes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Petrov.
Holmes cracks Petrov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Holmes misses with the combination.
Petrov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Holmes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Petrov trying to control the position from guard on top but Holmes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Petrov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Holmes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Holmes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Petrov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Holmes controls Petrov momentarily but Petrov frees himself.

Petrov wants to control from the top but Holmes keeps moving.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Holmes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Petrov.

and Petrov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Holmes is looking to clinch.
Holmes rushes Petrov and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Holmes pushes Petrov back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Petrov is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Holmes manages to break the clinch.

Petrov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Holmes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Holmes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Petrov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Holmes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Petrov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Petrov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Holmes takes a swing at Petrov's ribcage but misses.

and Petrov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Holmes!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Holmes controls the position.
Petrov misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Petrov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Holmes is looking to escape.

Holmes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Petrov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sherlok Holmes will probably get the nod.
