PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wacko Warner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Concrete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Concrete's choice of entrance music: Pillar : Fire on the Inside. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wacko Warner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Concrete!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warner lands a nice shot that snaps Concrete's head back.
Warner scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Warner keeps the fight on the outside.
Warner lands a nice looking body shot.
Warner looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Warner ducks under a wild hook from Concrete.
Warner throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Warner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Concrete moves away.

Concrete takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Warner throws a body punch but Concrete moves out of range.

Concrete gets the takedown into side control.
Warner gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Concrete looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Warner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Concrete is trying to work for a kimura but Warner is defending well.

Concrete is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Warner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Warner has his foot on Concrete's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Concrete works his way back into a safe position though.

Warner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Warner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Concrete won't allow Warner to sweep him here.

Warner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Concrete can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Concrete accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Concrete wants to pass the guard but Warner is keeping the position.

Warner is looking for a triangle but Concrete pushes his legs off easily.

Warner is really struggling to control Concrete but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Warner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Concrete doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Concrete manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Concrete is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Warner swings for the body but Concrete moves out of range.
A clash of legs there as Warner blocks the low kick.
Warner moves out of range as Concrete strikes.
Warner looks to score with a jab to the body but Concrete is just out of range.
Warner lands a jab to Concrete's midsection.
Warner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Concrete has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Warner prevents the takedown attempt.
Warner tries to throw a body punch but Concrete avoids it by throwing Warner back against the ropes.

Warner lands an elbow inside.
Warner comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Warner lands an elbow that stopped Concrete in his tracks for a moment.

Warner scores with a shot to the side of Concrete's head.

Warner manages to break the clinch.
Warner fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Warner wants to clinch up but Concrete keeps it at a distance.
Warner takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Warner misses with a jab, cross combination.

Warner moves into range and clinches up with Concrete.
Warner lands an elbow just above Concrete 's eye.

Warner breaks from the clinch.
Concrete takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Concrete closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Warner is looking to wear down Concrete with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Warner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Concrete moves away.
Warner jabs Concrete right on the nose. Concrete blinks but takes it well.
Concrete on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Warner feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Concretes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wacko Warner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warner tries to clinch up but Concrete circles away and keeps his distance.
Concrete walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Warner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Concrete throws out the jab.
Concrete takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Warner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Concrete tries to work over Warner's front leg with a kick but Warner checks it.
Warner lands a slapping body shot.
Concrete misses with a takedown attempt - Warner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fight stays on the outside here - Concrete looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Concrete is trying hard to land a takedown here. Warner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Concrete gets tackled into the ropes by Warner. Warner maintains the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Concrete tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Warner just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Wacko Warner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Concrete.

Warner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Warner swings for the body but Concrete moves out of range.
Warner scores with a nice strike.
Warner punishes Concrete's body with a nice straight punch.

Warner ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Warner lands a nice hook to Concrete's body. Concrete takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Warner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Concrete throws a hook but Warner blocks it.
Warner cracks the inside of Concrete's front leg.

Warner clinches up with Concrete and pushes him back against the ropes.

Warner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Concrete has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Concrete there as he acknowledges the shot.
Concrete tries a head kick but it misses.
Decent striking displayed by Warner there.
Concrete tries to score a power double leg takedown but Warner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Concrete somewhat.
Warner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Concrete circles away quickly and effectively.

Warner lands a nice shot to the body.

Warner pushes Concrete up against the ropes in a clinch.
Warner lands a nice elbow.
Concrete takes an elbow to the forehead.
Warner lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Concrete.
Concrete tries to break the clinch but Warner is controlling the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Warner is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Concrete is defending well for now.

Concrete drops down looking for an ankle pick but Warner pulls his leg out and moves away.

Warner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Concrete manages to avoid it.
Warner is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Concrete with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Warner to score with a decent uppercut.

Concrete takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Warner moves into range and connects with a jab.

Concrete takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Concrete misses the body punch
letting Warner counter with a right hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Warner, as that shot connected.
Concrete tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Concrete changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Warner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.


Warner is rocked!

Concrete thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Oh Warner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Concrete takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Warner manages to get back to half guard.
Warner seems to have got his legs back now.
Warner gets back to full guard.
Concrete trying to control the position from guard on top but Warner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wacko Warner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Warner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
