The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Me is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Me closes the distance but Mamonov moves to the side

and Mamonov counters with a head kick that drops Me to the mat! Me scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Me is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Me tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mamonov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Me somewhat.

Me darts in and clinches Mamonov up against the ropes.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Mamonov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Me looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Me throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mamonov was covering up waiting for the punch and Me finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Me is looking to take a break and control but Mamonov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Belo Me wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Me takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Mamonov counters with a body kick that stops Me in his tracks momentarily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Mamonov in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
