PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Irons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Larinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Irons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Igor Larinov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larinov drops his hands momentarily and Irons takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Igor Larinov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Irons scores with a hook to the body. Larinov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Larinov misses with an attempted mid kick.
Irons moves into range and connects with a jab.
A jab from Irons finds it's way through Larinov's defenses.
Larinov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Larinov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Irons finds it's way round the side to connect with Larinov's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Irons scores with a body shot.
Irons lands an overhand right.
Irons throws a series of strikes that have Larinov backpedaling.
Irons lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Irons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Larinov.
Larinov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Larinov slips a jab and a cross from Irons.
Larinov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


Larinov is rocked!
Larinov tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Larinov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Larinov is still on wobbly legs! Can Irons finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Irons keeps the fight on the outside.
Larinov seems to have recovered his senses.
Irons cracks Larinov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Irons throws a right and a left that Larinov avoids nicely.
Irons bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Irons is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Larinov takes one on the button.
Irons connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Larinov momentarily.
Irons rushes Larinov with punches - Larinov moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Larinov goes down! Irons follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Irons!
