The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Alavaara blocks the low kick.
Alavaara has Amato up against the cage in a clinch.
Alavaara can't find room to land a body shot as Amato controls the action.
Amato lands a hook that snaps the head of Alavaara backwards.
Alavaara fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Amato fails to pull guard.
Amato is looking for a takedown.
Alavaara displaying some good clinch control by pressing Amato up against the cage.
Amato is trying to pull guard but Alavaara turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mauri Alavaara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Domenic Amato.
Alavaara lands with a short shot to the head.

Alavaara avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Amato throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Alavaara fails with an attempt to clinch.
Amato tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alavaara was well out of range. Poor timing from Amato.
Alavaara drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Amato is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alavaara.

Alavaara blocks a low kick nicely.

and Alavaara counters with a leg kick.
Amato goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nice straight punches there by Amato. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Amato.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A looping hook to the body misses from Alavaara. Amato does a little dance to reset his feet.
Amato fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alavaara manages to avoid it.

Amato throws a head kick that misses
and Alavaara counters with a left to the body.
Amato misses with a low kick as Alavaara jumps back.
Amato walks into a stiff left hand from Alavaara.
Amato thows a left - swing and a miss!
Good work by Alavaara as he checks the leg kick.

Amato sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Alavaara to the ground! Amato dives into full mount looking to finish!
Alavaara is rocked!

After winning the bout, Domenic Amato thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
