Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Kronic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Celebration of the lizard. Jon Kronic is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Kronic!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Douglas rushes Kronic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Douglas lands with a short shot to the head.

Douglas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Douglas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kronic throws a right and a left that both miss.

Douglas has closed the distance and engaged Kronic in a clinch.
Douglas keeps control of Kronic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kronic looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Douglas lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kronic or not.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Douglas wants a takedown.
Kronic is trying to force a seperation but Douglas has the dominant position.
Douglas is leaning against Kronic and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Douglas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of James Douglas.

Kronic stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kronic wants it to stay on the feet.
Douglas shoots for a takedown but Kronic saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kronic shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Douglas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Douglas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Douglas has Kronic pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Douglas pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kronic tumbling to the mat - Douglas dives into Kronic's guard.

Douglas wants to control from the top but Kronic keeps moving.
Douglas chips away with some ground and pound.

Douglas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kronic is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kronic has escaped and now he's on top!
Douglas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kronic is controlling him.

Douglas uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Douglas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kronic goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kronic gets tackled into the cage by Douglas. Douglas maintains the clinch.
Kronic wants to break free but Douglas has control.
Douglas works on Kronic's body with a couple of short punches.
Douglas looking for a takedown.
Douglas is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Douglas lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Kronic.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Douglas tightens his grip and picks Kronic up, before dumping him to the ground. Kronic manages to land in guard.
Douglas distracts Kronic with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Douglas scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kronic keeping moving, preventing Douglas from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Douglas dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Douglas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A big shot lands for Douglas! That's hurt Kronic! Will he recover? Douglas fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Douglas!
