Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Fabree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Flanagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabree comes into the arena with Flo Rida - Good Feeling blaring out of the sound system. Jon Flanagan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dexter Fabree!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Flanagan!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabree misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fabree shoots for a takedown but Flanagan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Flanagan tries to clinch there but Fabree circles away.
Jon Flanagan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fabree will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Flanagan wants to clinch up but Fabree keeps it at a distance.

Fabree goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Flanagan turns into him and now he's in Fabree's guard.

Fabree has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Fabree tries for a takedown but Flanagan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Fabree steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Flanagan. That one must have hurt.
Flanagan doesn't manage to clinch there - Fabree circles away.

Flanagan stalling in the clinch but Fabree improves position.
Flanagan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Flanagan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fabrees head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Flanagan swings wildly with an uppercut but Fabree uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dexter Fabree will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Flanagan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jon Flanagan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fabree shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Flanagan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fabree wants to pass the guard but Flanagan is keeping the position.
Fabree wants to stand but Flanagan is controlling his posture from full guard.

Fabree has gone for a leg lock! Flanagan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fabree's guard.
Dexter Fabree overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Flanagan wants to control from the top but Fabree keeps moving.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dexter Fabree.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fabree moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Flanagan has worked his arm free - good work by Flanagan!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fabree thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dexter Fabree dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Flanagan wants to clinch but Fabree slips to the side
and Fabree counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fabree will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Flanagan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fabree's best efforts.

Fabree seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Fabree seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Flanagan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Dexter Fabree showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fabree, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
