Ganga comes to the ring accompanied by Eye of the Tiger. The crowd seem to be enjoying Vasquel's choice of entrance music: Surviving the Times. Rodolpho Vasquel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sunil Ganga's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Rodolpho Vasquel has been cut.
Ganga thuds a left hand into Vasquel's body.
Ganga takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Ganga takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ganga throws a combination. Vasquel tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Vasquel shoots in for a takedown but Ganga shows good takedown defense.

Vasquel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Vasquel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ganga dives on top into guard.
Ganga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vasquel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ganga is pawing at Vasquel, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Vasquel's nose. Vasquel is badly hurt! Ganga pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Vasquel tries desperately to hold on but Ganga is relentless in his assault! As Vasquel receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Ganga away and this one is in the books!
