Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Anthony! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Jackson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anthony gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Anthony sits in half guard. Anthony trying to mount his opponent but Jackson defends it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Anthony seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Anthony is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.
Anthony is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson kicks Anthony off and gets back to his feet. Anthony throws the left hand but Jackson avoids the punch easily. Jackson avoids the head kick by Anthony.
Jackson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Anthony. Anthony obviously looking to wear him down.
Anthony throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jackson keeps the fight on the outside. Anthony scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Anthony decides to stand back up. Anthony steps back and let's Jackson get back to his feet. William Anthony seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson tries to clinch but Anthony moves away and Anthony counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Anthony thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anthony is staying tight to Jackson's torso, preventing him from escaping. Jackson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Anthony asserts his dominance and retains side control. Jackson prevents Anthony from improving position. Jackson is trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anthony tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Anthony trying to control the position but Jackson is working away. Anthony is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jackson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Anthony wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Anthony is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jackson has escaped the position, nice work there. Anthony is trying to get an arm triangle but Jackson is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anthony decides to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony fails with a takedown attempt. Anthony changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Anthony stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Anthony on that attempt. Anthony tries to land a leg kick but Jackson saw it coming and moves away.
Anthony shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jackson is trying to defend but Anthony finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Anthony stands up and beckons Jackson to join him on the feet. Jackson is breathing heavily.

Anthony decides to take the fight back to the feet. Anthony decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Anthony is looking for a kimura but Jackson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anthony to get the leverage. Anthony trying to mount his opponent but Jackson defends it.

Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ground and pound from Anthony. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anthony thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
Anthony scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Anthony tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jackson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Anthony wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy. Anthony is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.

Anthony looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well. Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet. Anthony shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anthony's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Anthony. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters circling a little - Anthony finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Anthony is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Jackson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Anthony is defended easily by Jackson. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anthony shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard. Anthony trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Anthony trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson is looking to stand up but Anthony isn't so interested in that idea. Anthony's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. William Anthony wasn't doing enough on the ground. Anthony clinches with his opponent.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Anthony fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jackson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Anthony has picked Jackson up - he's going for a ride! Anthony dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Anthony wants to free his trapped foot but Jackson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Anthony decides to return to a standing position. Anthony moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson is squirming around, avoiding Anthony's attempts to control the action. Anthony is really struggling to control Jackson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Anthony is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around? Jackson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Anthony is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jackson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Anthony is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Roy Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! William Anthony is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anthony shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! William Anthony showed his dominance in that final round. Well Anthony has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
