Monke controls the pace of the fight for a moment. I looks like Monke might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Monke is fighting to break Fiato's control of his arms but Fiato is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Monke is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Fiato keeping moving, preventing Monke from controlling successfully. Fiato tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fiato lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Monke! Monke looks gassed! Fiato is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Fiato!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Josh Fiato!
