The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cookie is looking to clinch but Jericho is avoiding it.

Cookie throws a right and a left that Jericho avoids nicely.

Jericho is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cookie can't fight it off and eventually Jericho manages to take the fight to the floor. Cookie looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cookie thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jericho gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cookie throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jericho misses with a jab, cross combination.

Cookie misses with a knee to the head.
Jericho wants to break free but Cookie has control.
Cookie lands a body shot in the clinch.
Jericho has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cookie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Cookie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cookie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Cookie is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jericho breaks the clinch.
Cookie throws a body punch but Jericho moves out of range.

Cookie takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Cookie wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Cookie turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cookie manages to end up in side control.
Cookie prevents Jericho from escaping the position.
Cookie scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jericho to see if he's OK.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jericho takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Jericho drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cookie pulls his leg out and moves away.
Fortune Cookie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Jericho.
Cookie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jericho paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jericho has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jericho throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cookie's head.
Cookie throws a series of punches but Jericho moves out of range.
Cookie tries to clinch there but Jericho circles away.
Jericho takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Jericho decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cookie's guard.
Cookie has a closed guard, preventing Jericho from standing up.
Jericho is working Cookie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jericho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cookie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
