The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velazquez scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Chad Smith has been cut.
Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Velazquez throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Aaron Velazquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.
Velazquez steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Smith is out on his feet! Velazquez sets himself and nearly takes Smith's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
