Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Hamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spar Wrestling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Hamada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Spar Wrestling! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamada closes the distance and pushes Wrestling back into the cage. Hamada pulls Wrestling into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hamada manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Wrestling shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hamada pinned against the cage. Hamada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hamada moves into the clinch successfully.
Hamada gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wrestling has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hamada is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hamada is trying to control the action in half guard but Wrestling is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Wrestling is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hamada jumps into side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wrestling is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamada is staying tight to Wrestling's torso, preventing him from escaping. Wrestling tries to get back to half guard but can't. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wrestling can do anything to dispel that myth. Hamada in side control, just content to control the action for now. Wrestling is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hamada off and has taken his back! Hamada defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Wrestling's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wrestling might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hamada kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Wrestling punches the canvas rather than the man. Wrestling is looking for the choke from the back position but Hamada is controlling his hands well. Wrestling working for the choke. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wrestling patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Wrestling looking to break Hamada's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hamada remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Wrestling will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Hamada manages to reverse the position and now he's in Wrestling's guard. Nice work there by Hamada.
Wrestling throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Wrestling working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hamada doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hamada manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hamada got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wrestling has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hamada has managed to get both his arms back between Wrestling's legs - danger averted. Hamada wants to control from the top but Wrestling keeps moving. Hamada's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hamada trying to control but Wrestling is working from the bottom. Wrestling being controlled here, momentarily. Wrestling looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hamada tries to free his leg and advance position but Wrestling is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wrestling is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Steven Hamada wasn't doing enough on the ground. Excellent takedown into side control there by Wrestling. Hamada sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Wrestling trying to control from half guard but Hamada is working away. Hamada wants to get back to full guard. Wrestling in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hamada tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wrestling!
