Gunn kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fade to Black. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oliva pinned against the cage. Oliva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oliva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Oliva wants it to stay on the feet.
Gunn has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Gunn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gunn shoots in for a takedown but Oliva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Oliva goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Sam Gunn has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oliva and Gunn are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Oliva throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Gunn into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Oliva knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

After winning the bout, Samir Oliva thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
