Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jouko Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kasim Gaziev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jouko Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kasim Gaziev!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gaziev for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jouko Jones.

Gaziev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Gaziev is now in Jones's guard.

Gaziev has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gaziev's guard.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Jouko Jones will probably get the nod.

Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gaziev manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gaziev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Gaziev's guard.

Gaziev has hold of one of Jones's legs. Jones is fighting the takedown attempt but Gaziev gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gaziev is fighting to break Jones's control of his arms but Jones is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gaziev pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
