Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roman Burza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjo Hadzija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burza's entrance music is Welcome To The Jungle. A fine choice. Hadzija is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bos ili Hadžija. Roman Burza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Burza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Benjo Hadzija! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hadzija is looking to clinch but Burza is avoiding it.
Hadzija missing with a left hand there. Burza was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Burza lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hadzija's sensitive parts. Burza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hadzija's waist but Hadzija gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burza off to one side. Hadzija checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hadzija wants to clinch but Burza slips to the side and Burza counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hadzija darts in trying to clinch and Burza counters with a two punch combo. Hadzija darts in trying to clinch and Burza counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hadzija's knee momentarily. Burza misses with a leg kick. Burza swings widly with a right hand
and Hadzija connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hadzija wants to clinch but Burza slips to the side and Burza counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Hadzija tries to clinch up and Burza cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hadzija takes the fight into the clinch. Hadzija swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Burza wants a takedown but no success here.
Burza blocks the elbow strike.
Hadzija misses with the head strike.
Burza breaks from the clinch.
Burza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hadzija tries to avoid it but Burza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hadzija to the ground. Hadzija escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roman Burza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burza swats away the attempt to clinch by Hadzija. Hadzija closes the distance looking to clinch and Burza decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hadzija's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hadzija wants to get back to his feet but Burza is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Burza pushes down on Hadzija's leg and manages to get into half guard. Burza prevents Hadzija from standing back up.
Burza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hadzija keeps working. Burza passes to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burza tries for a kimura but Hadzija is defending well. Hadzija is not content to let Burza control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burza has an Americana. Hadzija didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Burza is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Burza hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Roman Burza! Roman Burza opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
