PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earth Quake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quake has chosen PRODIGY - RUN WITH THE WOLVES as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiro Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earth Quake!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki throws a series of strikes that have Quake backpedaling.


It looks like Earth Quake has been cut.
Quake avoids the body shot from Aoki.

Quake rushes Aoki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Aoki avoiding damage as Quake throws knees to the body.

Aoki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Quake uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aoki.

Aoki throws a looping overhand right but Quake ducks down to avoid it.

and Quake counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Aoki thinking.

Aoki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Quake circles away quickly and effectively.

Quake looks for the body kick but Aoki saw that one coming.

Quake uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Aoki.
Quake throws the left hand but Aoki avoids the punch easily.

Aoki wants to land a leg kick but Quake is out of range.
Quake jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hiro Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Aoki with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Quake to score with a decent uppercut.

and Quake makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aoki is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Quake's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Quake sizes up Aoki with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Quake stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Aoki.

Quake ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aoki throws a body punch but Quake moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Aoki. Quake does a little dance to reset his feet.
Quake takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Aoki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Quake ducks under a wild hook from Aoki.
Aoki cracks Quake with a good jab.
Aoki steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Quake.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Aoki lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


That has opened up Earth Quake's cut even more.

Quake fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aoki, pushing him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Quake is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Aoki is defending well for now.
Quake has Aoki pressed against the cage.
Quake lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Quake is pushing Aoki up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The cut above Earth Quake's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aoki tries to bum rush Quake with a series of wild strikes but Quake uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Quake moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Aoki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Quake takes one to the chin there.
Aoki throws a right hand that misses
and Quake counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Aoki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Quake.
Quake lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Quake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aoki.
Quake defending well as Aoki loads up on a big left hand.
Aoki throws a body punch but Quake moves out of range.
Quake clobbers Aoki with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Earth Quake's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Aoki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Quake tries to clinch there but Aoki circles away.
Aoki takes a swing at Quake's ribcage but misses.
Quake throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Aoki closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


Aoki is rocked!
Quake fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Oh Aoki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Aoki circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Quake. Aoki falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Quake!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Earth Quake!
