Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Williams! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams tries to clinch but James moves away so James counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. James loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Williams wants to stand and escape but James is having none of it. James throwing strikes from guard but Williams blocks nicely. James throws an elbow that misses. Williams uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in James's guard. Nice move by Williams! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and James dives on top into guard. James postures up and lands a big shot to Williams's brow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. James throws a big elbow that misses. James throws a big right hand that misses. James throws an elbow that misses. Williams uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in James's guard. Nice move by Williams!

Williams advances to half guard. James regains full guard. Nicely done. James manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.
James advances position into side control! James throwing strikes but Williams manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! James is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it. Williams trying to control the position but James is working away. James sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James gets back to full guard.
James is looking for a triangle but Williams pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. James escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard. Williams wants to stand but James is controlling the position. James postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. James lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. James content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. James passes Williams's left leg - he's now in half guard.

James looks to score some points with some ground and pound. James is trying to control. Williams wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Williams wants to get back to full guard. Williams avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James. James takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Williams is trying to stand.
James lands strikes from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Williams is staying active underneath James, who seems content to just control the action from this position. James throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Williams keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. James working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! James throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. James working Williams over with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh James dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Williams tries to clinch but fails miserably and James decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Williams's guard. Williams pushes James off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Williams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and James counters with a right hand to the body. James looking for a takedown here - he's got it. James throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Williams works some decent striking defense from the bottom. James lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James postures up and lands a big shot to Williams's brow. James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. James is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. James pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Williams keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. Williams avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. James postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. James slips nicely into half guard. Josh James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. James wants to control but Williams is keeping him busy.

James is looking for a kimura but Williams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage. James looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Williams is defending against the submission attempts here by James.

Williams is rocked! James postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Williams out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! James goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
