Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elbrys Gora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gora might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cadillac Records - Howlin' Wolf Sings . Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Narcissistic Cannibal. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gora gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Smith counters with a nice body kick.
Smith missing with a left hand there. Gora was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Leon Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gora shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gora misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gora shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gora's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Smith counters with a good low kick that Gora was not able to check.
Smith lands with an uppercut that bounces Gora off the ropes and back into range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Smith looks to throw the jab but Gora is out of range.
Smith's corner calls for a 1-2. Smith obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Smith counters with a slapping leg kick.

Smith lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Smith lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Smith scores with a nice strike.
Gora shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Smith throws a wild body kick that Gora sees coming a mile off.
Smith throws a push kick but Gora slaps the foot to one side.
Smith throws a head kick but Gora moves out of range.
Smith lands a body shot.
Smith lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gora's sensitive parts.
Smith has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Smith thows a body shot but no joy.
Smith scores with the left hand. Gora knows he should have avoided that one.

Leon Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Gora doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Smith makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gora really felt that one!

Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gora fails to land the takedown.
Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Smith scores with a head kick. Gora tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

and Smith counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Elbrys Gora's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gora has time to react.

Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gora had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
