Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janne Puikko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montoya comes to the cage accompanied by Roy Jones - Can't be touched. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Montoya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Janne Puikko! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montoya misses with a body kick. Puikko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Montoya looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. You can see the frustration on Montoya's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Puikko is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Puikko lands a few punches from side control. Puikko misses with the ground and pound. Montoya gets back to half guard. Puikko controlling the pace. Montoya trying to get back to full guard but Puikko takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Montoya might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Puikko postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Montoya looks a forlorn figure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montoya is wriggling around trying to escape.
Montoya tries to hold on but Puikko pushes him away. Puikko looking to control and managing it successfully. Puikko looking to finish with strikes here!
Montoya wants to try and get back to his feet. Puikko prevents Montoya from getting the reversal. Puikko looking to ground and pound but Montoya is blocking nicely. Puikko working Montoya over with strikes here. Puikko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Montoya regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Puikko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Montoya has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Puikko is working away from the top position though. Montoya wants to get back to full guard. Montoya is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montoya is pressing down on Puikko's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montoya can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Puikko controls the pace. Montoya wants to stand and escape but Puikko is having none of it. Puikko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Puikko postures up.
Montoya wants to improve his position but instead Puikko has moved into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Puikko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Puikko working the head and body with strikes. Montoya trying to control but Puikko postures up.
Puikko trying to control the pace. Montoya is looking for a sweep. Puikko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Montoya keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Puikko is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Montoya is looking to control Puikko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Montoya avoid being mounted? Montoya blocking the ground and pound attempt from Puikko. Montoya is trying is best to control the position here. Montoya on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Montoya tries to get out of the position. Puikko not doing much here.
We're going to have a standup here because John Montoya wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Montoya rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Montoya takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Puikko lands with a thumping leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Puikko slips under a jab from Montoya. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Puikko throws out a powerful jab. Puikko lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Montoya has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Montoya there as he acknowledges the shot. Puikko avoids a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Janne Puikko dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Montoya throws a lazy right hand but Puikko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Montoya throws a sloppy head kick and Puikko moves out of range easily. Puikko smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A swing and a miss from Montoya. Montoya misses with a looping right. Nice body kick from Puikko. Puikko avoids a kick to the body.
Montoya uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Puikko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Montoya throws a push kick but Puikko slaps the foot to one side. Montoya wants to clinch. Puikko's jab looks to have found its range, popping Montoya under the eye. John Montoya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Puikko catches Montoya with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Puikko scores with a decent looking hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puikko lands with a nice body punch. Montoya wants to clinch but Puikko slips to the side and Puikko counters with a low kick, right behind Montoya 's knee. Puikko is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Puikko misses with a shot to the body and Montoya cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Puikko lands with a thumping leg kick.
Puikko digs a good body shot into Montoya's ribs. Sloppy strikes from Montoya. Those never looked like landing. Montoya swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Montoya darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Puikko has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Montoya throws a wild body kick that Puikko sees coming a mile off. Montoya keeps the fight on the outside. Puikko doesn't manage to clinch there - Montoya circles away.
Montoya fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Puikko scores with a punch to the head. Montoya misses with a few strikes there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Puikko cracks Montoya with an open hand slap. Puikko moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Montoya is rocked! Puikko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Montoya has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Oh Montoya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Montoya takes a jab right on the kisser.
Montoya throws a lazy body kick and Puikko counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Montoya! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Janne Puikko!
