The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brava digs a good body shot into Voss's ribs.
Voss shoots in for a double leg but Brava sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Zica Brava seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Voss tries to keep at a distance but Brava has taken the fight into the clinch.
Voss is trying to pull guard but Brava turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Zica Brava has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Voss.
Brava lands a left hand that snaps the head of Voss backwards.

Voss is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Brava tries to get to full guard but Voss has control of the leg.
Well, if Voss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Voss wants to control but Brava is keeping him busy.
Voss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alex Voss was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A lazy left from Brava finds it's target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Voss.
Voss closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brava circles away.
Zica Brava is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Brava fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Voss, pushing him back against the cage.
Voss changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brava fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Brava comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Brava has closed the distance and engaged Voss in a clinch.
Brava throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Vosss head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Brava creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Voss wants to take the fight to the mat but Brava manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Voss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brava pulls his leg out and moves away.

Brava pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Voss back to the cage. Brava follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Brava throws a nice looking combination but Voss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Brava feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vosss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Brava with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Voss shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brava pinned against the cage. Brava gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brava throws a head kick that misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Voss.

Brava pulls Voss in close to his closed guard and prevents Voss from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Zica Brava dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

In his post fight interview, Zica Brava started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
