Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saint Papierz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Alexander! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Papierz tries to clinch but Alexander moves out of range. Alexander circles away from the clinch attempt and Alexander counters with a single leg into guard. Papierz didn't expect that. Papierz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Papierz keeping full guard, as Alexander tries to pass. Alexander works over Papierz with some ground and pound from guard. Papierz is looking to stand up but Alexander isn't so interested in that idea. Alexander gets to his feet - Papierz follows without any prompting. Alexander tries for a takedown but Papierz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alexander shoots in and gets a takedown into Papierz's guard. Alexander trying to control the position from guard on top but Papierz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander pushes down on Papierz's leg and manages to get into half guard. Alexander scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Alexander has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Let's hope that Alexander has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Papierz wants to get back to his feet. Alexander seems to be working for a kimura but Papierz defends the submission attempt. Alexander maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Papierz could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Alexander has cracked it and Papierz is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Alexander!
