Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ribert Whitney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Liddle is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ribert Whitney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck Liddle! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitney shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Whitney showed some decent athleticism there. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Whitney performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Liddle wants to get back to full guard. Liddle actively working from the bottom here. Liddle looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Liddle actively working from the bottom here. Whitney frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Liddle blocking the ground and pound. Liddle keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Ribert Whitney wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Liddle gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Whitney counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Liddle thinking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Whitney takes the fight into the clinch. Whitney manages to pull guard.

Whitney is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Whitney is adopting a defensive guard. Whitney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Whitney slips a nice elbow through Liddle's hands, connecting with Liddle's forehead. Whitney throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Whitney content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Whitney is looking to advance position but Liddle won't allow it. Whitney is figuring out what he wants to do next. Whitney seems to be looking for submissions.

Whitney prevents Liddle from improving his position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whitney content to control rather than advance. Whitney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Liddle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Whitney is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Liddle can't fight it off and eventually Whitney manages to take the fight to the floor. Liddle looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Whitney has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Whitney looking to pass the guard. Whitney showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Liddle shoots in for a double leg but Whitney sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Liddle misses with a takedown attempt - Whitney sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Whitney has closed the distance and engaged Liddle in a clinch.

Liddle drops back looking for a leg! Whitney is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Whitney manages to kick Liddle off! Liddle jumps back into Whitney's guard. Liddle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Liddle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Whitney throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Whitney has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Liddle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Whitney wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Whitney wants to sweep here but Liddle controlling him for the moment. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Whitney holds on and takes a little breather. Liddle drops back looking for a leg! Whitney is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Whitney manages to kick Liddle off! Liddle jumps back into Whitney's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitney has his hands on Liddle's head, controlling the position. Whitney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ribert Whitney just wasn't active enough. Whitney shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Whitney was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Whitney scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Whitney is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Liddle is surviving well by controlling Whitney's body position as best he can. Liddle is wriggling around trying to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Liddle defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Whitney. Liddle working to try and regain half guard.

Ribert Whitney dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Liddle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Whitney defends it easily. Whitney looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Whitney throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Liddle works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Liddle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Liddle has his foot on Whitney's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Whitney works his way back into a safe position though. Whitney is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Liddle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Whitney.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Liddle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Whitney gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Whitney pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Liddle is keeping the position for now. Whitney working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Whitney controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ribert Whitney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Chuck Liddle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

It looks like Chuck Liddle has been cut. Ribert Whitney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Whitney feints and as Liddle raises his hands in defense, Whitney changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Liddle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Whitney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Whitney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Liddle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whitney controls the pace. Whitney is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Liddle can do to turn this around? Whitney wants to pass the guard but Liddle is keeping the position. Whitney not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Liddle for as long as he can get away with. Liddle actively working from the bottom here. Whitney wants to work for an arm triangle but Liddle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
