Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Donati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black has chosen Disturbed - Indestructible as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Virgil Donati!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Black!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donati on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Donati tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Black manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Donati uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Black.
Black swings away with a body shot that misses
and Donati counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Matt Black has been cut.
Donati on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Black. Black obviously looking to wear him down.
Donati misses with a hook.
Donati lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Black throws a hook but Donati blocks it.
Black lands a leg kick that knocks Donati off balance momentarily.
Black misses with a straight left.
Nice defenses there by Black.
Black connects with a good right hand that stumbles Donati. Donati circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Black misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Donati counters with a nice uppercut.
Black walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Donati checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Black lands a jab.
Black throws a right hand that misses
and Donati counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Black - that will leave a mark!
Matt Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Black throws a hook but Donati avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Donati connects with a looping right hand.
Donati moves out of range of the leg kick from Black.
Donati swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Donati moves in looking to clinch but Black pushes him off.
Black throws a lazy right hand but Donati sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Donati throws the left hand but Black avoids the punch easily.
Nice defenses there by Donati.
Black pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Donati tries to close the distance and clinch but Black swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Good shot there by Donati.
Donati takes a swing at Black's ribcage but misses.
Donati misses with a straight left.
Black wants to clinch but Donati slips to the side
and Donati counters with a stiff right hand.
Black is rocked!
Donati cracks Black with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Black tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Donati pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Black is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Virgil Donati!
During a confident post fight interview, Virgil Donati thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
