The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penni throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Penni throws a lazy right hand but Barorf sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Barorf throws a nice head kick!
Penni misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barorf.
Penni misses with a hook.
Penni throws a jab when Barorf was well out of range.

and Barorf counters with a good low kick that Penni was not able to check.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barorf seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Barorf's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Penni really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barorf. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Karol Barorf wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Barorf lands a head kick. Penni smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Barorf uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Penni.
PeeJii Penni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barorf lands with a kick to the temple. Penni shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Penni fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barorf manages to avoid it.
Penni misses with a hook
and Barorf counters with a right hand to the body.
Barorf feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Penni's calf.
Barorf shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barorf showed some decent athleticism there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Still in half guard, Barorf seems content to control.
Barorf is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Penni has hold of Barorf's hands but Barorf slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Barorf will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Barorf is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Penni!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Penni parries the strikes from Barorf easily there. Barorf is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Penni to escape.
Penni avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Barorf.
Penni wants to get back to his feet but Barorf drags him back down.

Penni is letting Barorf control him for a moment.
Karol Barorf overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
