Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maxi Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steel Elbows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Elbows decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Elbows is looking to stand up but Silva won't let him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steel Elbows hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Elbows lunges at Silva with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Silva's hand.

Elbows changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Elbows is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there.
Silva is letting Elbows control him for a moment.
Elbows really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Elbows wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Elbows cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Silva wants to control but Elbows is having none of it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Silva tries to lock up and control but Elbows gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Silva wants to hold on but Elbows pushes him away.
Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Elbows is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because Maxi Silva wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Elbows bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Elbows shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Elbows postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Elbows is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Silva has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Elbows is looking to defend but Silva has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Elbows! Silva pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Elbows taps out and this one is all over!
