Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenshin Batusai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Danzig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batusai comes to the cage accompanied by Step Up. Danzig has chosen The Misfits-Where Eagles Dare as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kenshin Batusai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Glen Danzig!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danzig cracks Batusai with an open hand slap.
Batusai blocks the body kick.
Batusai throws a sloppy head kick
and Danzig counters with a head kick.
Danzig tries to clinch but Batusai moves out of range.

Batusai prevents a takedown attempt there.

Batusai throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Danzig has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Batusai regains guard immediately.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Glen Danzig hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Danzig shoots in but Batusai avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kenshin Batusai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glen Danzig.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Batusai just misses with a elbow thrown towards Danzig's brow.

Danzig jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Batusai walks away with a smile on his face. Danzig gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A close round but Glen Danzig will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Glen Danzig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Danzig postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Batusai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Danzig, into his guard.

Danzig has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Batusai uses from the top position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kenshin Batusai will probably get the nod.

Batusai pushes off an throws an elbow but Danzig leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Danzig has hold of one of Batusai's legs. Batusai is fighting the takedown attempt but Danzig gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Batusai has his foot on Danzig's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Danzig works his way back into a safe position though.

Danzig drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Batusai dives on top into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Danzig is on top in guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Danzig has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Batusai.
Danzig tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Batusai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
