Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Almer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Almer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Travis Riley! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Almer throws a predictable looking body shot
and Riley counters with a lovely straight right hand! Riley throws a nice outside leg kick. Almer lands a right hook to the body.
Almer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Riley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Riley throws a lazy right hand but Almer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Almer slips a jab from Riley. Riley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Almer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Almer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Riley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Almer feints a jab promting Riley to slip. Almer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Riley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Riley cracks Almer with an open hand slap. Almer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Riley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Almer moves away. Riley jabbing away but nothing is landing. Riley throws a leg kick which misses Almer's front leg but catches the back leg as Almer tries to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Riley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Riley throws a right hand that Almer ducks under and follows up with a left that Almer also avoids with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Almer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Riley. Nice defenses there by Almer. Riley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Riley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Riley thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Riley landing strikes from the mount and Almer is in trouble! Almer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Almer tries to get out of the position. Riley lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Almer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Riley on the ground. The referee warns Almer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Riley punching from mount but Almer doing a good job of avoiding damage. Riley lands a big shot there that rocks Almer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riley with good strikes from the mount here! Riley tries to control but Almer wriggling away. Riley is in the full mount, landing strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riley is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Almer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Riley sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Riley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Almer is looking to escape. Riley fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Riley throws a strike there. Almer manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Almer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Almer is staying active underneath Riley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riley not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Riley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Riley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Almer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Riley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Riley not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Almer taking some punishment here, with Riley in his half guard. Riley is looking for a kimura but Almer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Riley to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Travis Riley dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A swing and a miss from Riley. Riley moves away from the strike by Almer. Almer throws a body punch but Riley moves out of range. Almer tries to land a front kick but Riley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Riley drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Almer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Riley at a distance.
That kick from Almer tenderised Riley's leg. Riley is trying to keep his angry face on. Riley throws an overhand right that lands on Almer's shoulder, as Almer tries to avoid the shot. Riley lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Riley scores with a takedown into Almer's guard. Riley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Almer's guard. Riley missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Riley throwing shots but Almer is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riley throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Riley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Riley wants to pass to mount but Almer is defending the position. Travis Riley has got the better of the ground game so far. Riley lands with a punch from half guard. Riley works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riley misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Riley scoring with strikes but Almer is staying in there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riley breaks from Almer's wrist control and lands an elbow. Riley landing punches. Riley raining down shots from the mount! Riley has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Riley throwing strikes here but Almer is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Riley is landing with some decent strikes but Almer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Riley raining down hammerfists from mount.
Almer is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whack. That's a big, big shot from Riley! Almer is out cold! This one is all over!
