PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ringo Dingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and be Unna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ringo Dingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, be Unna!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dingo darts in and clinches Unna up against the cage.
Unna takes a knee right on the jaw!

Unna pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Unna should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Dingo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Unna keeping moving, preventing Dingo from controlling successfully.
Dingo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Unna keeping full guard, as Dingo tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Unna working for a triangle but Dingo defends it easily.
Dingo wanted to stand there but Unna had control of the position.
Unna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dingo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dingo gets to his feet. Unna looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dingo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Unna as he jumps to the side.
Dingo is breathing heavily.
Unna looks to land a combination but Dingo avoids it well.

Unna closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dingo's guard.
Dingo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dingo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Unna is one step ahead there.
Unna wants to stand but Dingo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Unna is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dingo looking for a sweep. Not yet Dingo, not yet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Unna trying to control the position from guard on top but Dingo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

be Unna has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Unna fails to land the takedown.
Unna shoots in but Dingo avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Unna fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dingo, pushing him back against the cage.
Dingo can't find room to land a body shot as Unna controls the action.

Dingo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Unna.
Dingo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Unna stuffs the takedown attempt from Dingo. Dingo gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ringo Dingo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Unna looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Unna thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Unna seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Unna is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dingo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dingo gets full guard.
Dingo trying to keep a closed guard but Unna is proving a slippery customer.
Unna wants to control from the top but Dingo keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dingo looking for a guillotine here but Unna defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but be Unna will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Unna has Dingo up against the cage in a clinch.
A short uppercut from Unna.

Dingo pulls guard effortlessly.
Dingo keeping moving, preventing Unna from controlling successfully.
Ringo Dingo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dingo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Unna is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dingo looking to control but Unna passes into half guard.
Dingo trying to control here.
Unna prevents Dingo from improving his position.
Dingo is working hard here to advance position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Unna lands a nice short elbow.
Unna is thwarting Dingo's attempts to control the position.
Unna is pressing down on Dingo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dingo is holding on for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Unna seems to be working for a kimura but Dingo defends the submission attempt.
Dingo trying to hold on to Unna's head to control him but Unna postures up.
Unna is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Dingo actively working from the bottom here.

Unna looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Unna prevents Dingo from improving his position.
Dingo taking some punishment here, with Unna in his half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Unna working over Dingo with some ground and pound. Dingo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Unna passes to full mount!
Unna wants to control the pace but Dingo is squirming around nicely.

Unna can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dingo is looking to escape.
Unna sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

be Unna showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Unna throws a right and a left that both miss.
Unna fails with a takedown attempt.
Dingo throws a leg kick but Unna checks it.
Dingo swings for the body but Unna moves out of range.

Unna shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dingo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dingo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Unna wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Unna working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dingo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Unna trying to pass the guard but Dingo defending well.
Dingo wants to get back to full guard.
Dingo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Unna is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dingo defends it well.
Unna seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dingo wants to control but Unna is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dingo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dingo keeping moving, preventing Unna from controlling successfully.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by be Unna.

Unna closes the distance and clinches.

Unna pulls guard successfully.
Dingo trying to control the position from guard on top but Unna is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ringo Dingo.
Unna fails to land the takedown.
Unna wants to clinch.
Unna shoots in looking for a takedown but Dingo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Unna's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ringo Dingo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of be Unna.

Unna forces Dingo back against the cage and clinches.
Ringo Dingo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
be Unna is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dingo can't find room to land a body shot as Unna controls the action.

Well Unna has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
