Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Utter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beaumont McHale!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McHale misses with a two punch combination.
Utter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Utter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Utter throws a series of punches but McHale avoids them all with ease.
Utter moves away from the strike by McHale.
Utter swinging wildly here.
McHale checks the leg kick nicely there.

McHale drives through with a takedown into guard.
McHale tries to free his leg and advance position but Utter is retaining full guard.
Utter is pulling down on McHale's head. It's preventing any offense from McHale, at least for the moment.
McHale in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McHale trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Utter keeping moving, preventing McHale from controlling successfully.
Utter working a defensive guard here.
Utter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Utter tries to get out of the position.
McHale throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Utter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McHale postures up and lands a big shot to Utter's brow.
McHale controlling from the top position.
Utter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McHale throws a big elbow that misses.
Utter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McHale is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Utter scoring with strikes but McHale is staying in there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Utter looking to finish with strikes here!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Utter throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Utter misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
McHale tries to hold on but Utter postures up.
Utter lands a heavy elbow.
McHale avoids a series of strikes thrown by Utter.
Utter throwing strikes here but McHale is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McHale tries to lock up and control but Utter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Utter trying to control but McHale is having none of it.
McHale is looking to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charlie Utter.
Well Utter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
