The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fardul is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Brunson.

It looks like Shacka Fardul has been cut.
Fardul tries to clinch but Brunson is having none of it.
Brunson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Brunson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fardul.
Brunson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brunson scores with a punch to the head.
Brunson throws a sloppy head kick and Fardul moves out of range easily.
Fardul looks to clinch
and Brunson counters with a three punch combo that has Fardul backing up. Fardul nods at Brunson to acknowledge the strikes.

Brunson throws a series of punches but Fardul moves out of range.

Brunson stuffs the takedown attempt from Fardul. Fardul gets slowly back to his feet.

Fardul seems to have recovered his senses.
Fardul fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brunson avoids it really well and circles away.
Donk. Brunson catches Fardul right on the button with a cross.
Brunson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Brunson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brunson keeps the fight on the outside.

Brunson stuffs the takedown attempt from Fardul. Fardul gets slowly back to his feet.
Greg Brunson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shacka Fardul.
Fardul shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fardul takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Fardul shoots in looking for a takedown. Brunson tries to sprawl out of it but Fardul keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brunson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fardul tries to clinch up
and Brunson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That has opened up Shacka Fardul's cut even more.
Fardul takes one to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brunson throws a low kick, looking for Fardul's leg but Fardul calmly moves out of range.

Fardul throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Brunson.
Brunson slips a jab and a cross from Fardul.
Nice sprawl there from Brunson as Fardul shoots in.
Fardul looks gassed!
Fardul fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brunson avoids it really well and circles away.
Brunson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Brunson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fardul sprawling to the canvas! Fardul rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Brunson finish him?!
Shacka Fardul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fardul takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Brunson connects with a stiff jab that staggers Fardul - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
