Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, John Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Davis darts in and clinches Meyer up against the cage.

Meyer is trying to trip Davis. He has hold of a leg but Davis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Meyer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Meyer defends well.
Meyer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Davis has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Davis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Meyer wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.
Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meyer manages to get himself to full guard.

Meyer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meyer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Meyer drops back looking for a leg! Davis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davis manages to kick Meyer off! Meyer jumps back into Davis's guard.
Meyer chips away with some ground and pound.
Meyer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Meyer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Meyer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Davis scores with a head kick. Meyer tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Roman Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyer is defended easily by Davis.
Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Davis throws a hook but Meyer blocks it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Davis.
Davis scores with a kick to the midsection.
Meyer takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Davis throws a series of punches but Meyer avoids them all with ease.

Davis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Meyer is looking to clinch.
Davis moves out of range of the strikes.
Davis misses with a hook
and Meyer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Davis thinking.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Davis connects with a crisp jab.
No luck for Meyer with that takedown attempt.

Meyer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Meyer is working for a submission of some sort.

Meyer seems to be working for a kimura but Davis defends the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Meyer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Meyer's back!

Meyer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Davis throws a right hand that Meyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Meyer also avoids with ease.

Meyer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Meyer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Meyer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Meyer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Davis's face.
John Meyer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Davis tries to reverse the position but Meyer maintains control.

Meyer has hold of Davis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Davis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Meyer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

John Meyer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Meyer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
