Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Dotson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dotson's entrance music is Motor Mouth. A fine choice. Lee is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Am Perfection by Cage 9. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Dotson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricky Lee!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dotson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lee misses the shot to the body.
Dotson misses with a wild combination.
Dotson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lee misses with a body punch

and Dotson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dotson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dotson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dotson is pushing down on Lee's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lee is fighting to maintain full guard but Dotson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Lee works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Dotson trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
Dotson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee is trying to keep Dotson in close.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dotson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lee can't keep his opponent in guard - Dotson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dotson wants to pass to mount but Lee is defending the position.
Lee pushes Dotson off looking to stand but Dotson dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee wants to control but Dotson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dotson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.

Dotson is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dotson to get the leverage.
Dotson wants to advance to full mount but Lee doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Dotson wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Lee bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dotson's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dotson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee is staying active underneath Dotson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Dotson tries to pass to full mount but Lee defends it.
Dotson wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it.
Dotson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Dotson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lee sees it coming and defends easily.
Lee is looking to control Dotson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lee can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dotson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dotson controlling the position easily from mount.
Lee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lee wants to hold on but Dotson pushes him away.
Lee keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dotson trying to control but Lee is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee misses with a double jab.
Dotson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dotson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lee.
Lee tries to bum rush Dotson with a series of wild strikes but Dotson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Dotson counters with a nice kick to the body.
Lee walks into a stiff left hand from Dotson.
Dotson tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee misses with a hook. Dotson ducked under it nicely.
Lee swings for the body but Dotson moves out of range.
Lee ducks right into an uppercut from Dotson.

Lee drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Dotson tries to buck Lee off but Lee is having none of it.
Lee wants to control but Dotson is keeping him busy.
Dotson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lee off and has taken his back!

Dotson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Lee's body.

Dotson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Lee has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Lee looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Dotson looking to break Lee's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lee remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dotson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Dotson is trying to stick to Lee's back but Lee is turning into Dotson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dotson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lee.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee is fighting to break Dotson's control of his arms but Dotson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Dotson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


No joy there for Dotson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lee throws a shot from downtown. Dotson moves away and avoids it.
Lee thows a body shot but no joy.

It looks like Ricky Lee has been cut.

Lee gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Dotson pushes Lee off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Dotson leaves Lee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dotson throws a one two combo.
Dotson looks to land a combination. Lee sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dotson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Dotson wants to clinch up but Lee keeps it at a distance.

Lee throws a hook but Dotson blocks it.
Dotson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lee looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Lee scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dotson doesn't seem bothered though.
Dotson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Lee throws the left hand but Dotson avoids the punch easily.

A punch lands to the side of Dotson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Nice takedown defense from Dotson. No joy for Lee on that attempt.
Dan Dotson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Lee.

Dotson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Lee gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dotson.

and Dotson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nice straight punches there by Lee. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lee.

Ricky Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dotson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Lee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dotson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dotson defends it well.
Dan Dotson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Dotson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Dotson.
Well Dotson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
