The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Res changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Irvin tries to avoid it but Res manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Irvin to the ground. Irvin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Irvin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Irvin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Res.
Nice sprawl there from Irvin as Res shoots in.
Bruce Irvin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ac Res.
Res on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Irvin. Irvin obviously looking to wear him down.
Res shoots and misses
and Irvin counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Res is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Irvin lands a leg kick that knocks Res off balance momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Res throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Irvin's waist but Irvin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Res off to one side.
Res closes this distance looking for a takedown but Irvin circles away.

Irvin throws a powerful right kick. Res tried to block low but the kick was high! Res was taken right off of his feet! Irvin jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
