Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tiberio Mito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mito's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Killswitch Engage - Holy Diver. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Bach! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bach misses with a hook. Bach keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mito moves out of range as Bach strikes. Mito fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bach manages to avoid it. Bach throws a right and a left that Mito avoids nicely. Jason Bach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mito moves out of range as Bach strikes. Mito misses with a kick to the body.
Bach looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mito uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bach. Mito lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bach circles away quickly and effectively. Bach scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Mito throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bach. Mito swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mito slips a jab from Bach. Bach gets tackled into the cage by Mito. Mito maintains the clinch. Bach wants to get back to striking at distance but Mito won't allow it.
A frustrated look appears on Bach's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bach is pressed up against the cage. Mito has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bach down to the mat. Bach avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Mito is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bach.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bach listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Bach looks to land a combination but Mito avoids it well. Bach throws a big shot that misses. Bach misses with a hook. Mito ducked under it nicely. Mito throws a sloppy head kick and Bach moves out of range easily. Bach swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bach keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sloppy strikes from Bach. Those never looked like landing. Bach displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mito throws out the jab. Mito ducks under a wild hook from Bach. The fight stays on the outside here - Mito looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mito keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bach. Mito missing with a left hand there. Bach was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bach throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mito sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mito lands the left hand. Bach lands a really nice looking cross but Mito seems unphased.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A slow jab from Mito misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mito staying out of range there. Bach scores with a nice strike. Bach bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mito lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Mito fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bach manages to avoid it. A swing and a miss from Bach. Bach showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mito.
Bach takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Bach might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Bach avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mito drops his hands momentarily and Bach takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bach throws an overhand right that lands on Mito's shoulder, as Mito tries to avoid the shot. Bach throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Mito fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bach is out of range. Mito ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sloppy strikes from Bach. Those never looked like landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mito shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bach's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Mito lands a couple of digs. Bach wants to stand but Mito is controlling the position. Mito trying to control but Bach is working from the bottom. Mito keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bach's head. Mito stops Bach from standing up. Mito is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mito is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Mito working some strikes from top position. Bach being controlled here, momentarily. Bach has momentary wrist control but Mito slips an elbow through the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mito is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mito works over Bach with some ground and pound from guard. Bach can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mito controls the pace. Mito has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mito's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Bach manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bach connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Mito blocks a jab. Bach misses with a looping left. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mito steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bach. Mito moves away from the strike by Bach. Mito throws an overhand right that lands on Bach's shoulder, as Bach tries to avoid the shot. Good exchange - Bach coming out on top. Mito looking to score a takedown here. Bach is defending well but Mito drives through and ends up in Bach's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Mito counters with a shoot takedown. Bach fights it but they end up in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Bach is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Mito might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mito trying to control the position from guard on top but Bach is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mito won't allow Bach to get back to his feet. Mito is stalling in the full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Mito's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This has been an exciting period of action! Mito keeps control of Bach as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Bach wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Bach pushes Mito away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mito gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mito working the head and body with strikes. This is bad for Bach! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bach is squirming around, avoiding Mito's attempts to control the action. You get the feeling that Bach really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Mito is nestled in close to Bach, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Mito content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
