Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jax Saxon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Test Tom! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tom avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tom blocks the body kick.
Saxon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tom blocks a head kick by Saxon.
Tom manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Saxon on his heels. He'll look to pass Saxon's guard now, I'm sure. Saxon keeping moving, preventing Tom from controlling successfully. Tom scoring with punches to the head and body. Tom loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tom missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Saxon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Saxon has his foot on Tom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tom works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tom throws a big right hand that misses. Saxon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tom trying to control but Saxon is working from the bottom. Tom throws a big right hand that misses. Tom with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tom accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Tom throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Saxon works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Saxon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tom lands a couple of elbows. Tom looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saxon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tom is aware though and is defending well. Tom landing some decent shots from guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tom stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Saxon has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Tom manages to get his head free but now Saxon has transitioned to an armbar! Tom grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Saxon! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jax Saxon! Jumping up and down and very excited, Jax Saxon waved his t-shirt featuring Inner Beast Nutrition And Laundry's logo in front of the cameras.
