Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kong Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge VonQulik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le comes to the ring accompanied by Ave Maria. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le missing with a left hand there. VonQulik was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
VonQulik tries for a takedown but Le sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
VonQulik's jab looks to have found its range, popping Le under the eye.
VonQulik thows a body shot but no joy.
Le closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

VonQulik looks to score with a jab to the body but Le is just out of range.
Le walks into a stiff left hand from VonQulik.
VonQulik shoots in but Le avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Le. That's going to slow VonQulik down.

Le's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Le duly obliges.

It looks like Jorge VonQulik has been cut.

VonQulik closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Le to the mat! Le manages to get full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
VonQulik wants to control from the top but Le keeps moving.

VonQulik throws an elbow that misses. Le uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in VonQulik's guard. Nice move by Le!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
VonQulik wants to sweep but no luck.
Le scoring with some ground and pound.
VonQulik is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
VonQulik wants to sweep here but Le controlling him for the moment.

VonQulik lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Le!

Le is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee warns Le that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jeez, Kong Le's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kong Le's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
